Quad Platina Integrated amplifier

A brilliant new , hi-end, integrated amplifier from Quad. Chunky looks and sound, with all the grunt for even the most demanding speakers, but keeping the clarity and rounded presentation often missing in modern transistor amps. We were all agreed in the shop,..which is rare!

Excellent connectivity and a very nice MM/MC phono stage for vinyl and XLR input, plus digital and an HDMI for brilliant TV sound without all that surround nonsense :)

At the heart of the Quad Platina Integrated Amplifier lies an exceptionally powerful Class AB dual mono design, providing 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts into 4 ohms. This configuration ensures precise channel separation and remarkable dynamic range. The amplifier is driven by a custom 630VA toroidal transformer with 44,000μF of filter capacitance per channel, ensuring ample current reserves for demanding speakers.

Developed over five years, every component was chosen by ear to uphold the signature Quad sound. Bespoke Wurth Elektronik capacitors and cascaded voltage regulators in both analogue and digital sections contribute to an astonishingly clean, authoritative, and detailed sonic presentation that effortlessly handles every musical genre.
